Large Aperture - Unique for Temperature Range
The BBS1500-40 is a highly stable calibration source which provides automatic calibration. It is ideally used for the calibration of short wavelength pyrometers and thermal imaging cameras between 250 and 1500°C. The large aperture size allows for easy alignment between the blackbody and the device under test.
Overview
The BBS 1500-40 is an adjustable temperature blackbody source with a wide temperature range of 250 to 1500°C (482 to 2732°F) and a 40 mm (1.57”) aperture. It is capable of precise calibration of pyrometers/thermal imaging cameras with spot sizes up to 24 mm. The BBS 1500-40 outperforms other blackbodies on the market within fast heat up times: 1450°C in 40 minutes. With its cylindrical cavity for providing uniform temperature radiation and simultaneous display of set point and actual temperature values, BBS1500-40 is a reliable and easy to read blackbody source.
The BBS1500-40 is unique in that it can generate calibration certificates for PSC infrared sensors under test using the new SensorCal3, PSC software. It combines the features of a precisely controlled temperature source with the calibration and adjustment tasks. The BBS1500-40 communicates with connected pyrometers and transmits and receives measurement data for manual or fully automatic tasks.
This premium blackbody calibration source is calibrated using a Process Sensors Diadem ultra-high accuracy transfer standard pyrometer. Once calibrated, the blackbody is used to calibrate PSC Metis, Sirius and Capella infrared sensing models. A PC is connected to the BBS1500-40 and a pyrometer undergoing calibration. The SensorCal3 PC software can then generate a calibration certificate.

BBS120 Series TE Cooled Blackbody Calibration Sources
