 Process Sensors IR Fiber Optic Sensors

The Process Sensors series of 1 & 2-color fiber optic sensors features wide temperature ranges from 300 to 3500°C, small spot sizes, high speed measurements down to 50 micro-seconds, on-board temperature displays, & adjustable focus, laser sighted optics.

Non-contact Infrared Fiber optic temperature sensors are in the short wavelength domain as the fiber optic glass core generally transmits IR energy in the region from 0.3u to 2.6u. Industry applications include Induction heating, Steel & metal processing, Molten glass, semiconductor wafers, Furnace, ceramics, composites, R&D etc., for temperatures starting at 120°C / 248°F.

Focusable optics offer the advantage that the smallest spot size can be achieved easily at user selectable measurement distances. The Metis fiber optic model offers a std. 1” O.D. lens assembly or a miniature lens assembly that is 12 mm diameter.

For the ultimate in simplicity, the Process Sensors Metis M3 & MQ models are available with Plug & Play enclosures. The enclosures are turn-key solutions to simplify systems installation, as all the wiring is provided. One of the Plug & Play enclosures comes equipped with a Touch Screen Display that allows set up of all the Metis sensor parameters and provides trend screens and optional solid state alarms. Custom modifications are also available. The built-in peak picker function (maximum value storage) can be activated to compensate for interruptions in radiation and can be reset automatically, manually, or periodically using a preset clear time.
